Municipality of Heerlen
Under the leadership of Henri Ritzen, DsignMarking executes this project in close collaboration with the graphic designer. Together they develop a visual concept that fits both the appearance of the old Town Hall and the modern new building.
During the design process, acrylic is consciously chosen. This material allows for working with molds and precisely cutting typography and shapes. This results in signs and wayfinding that are sleek, durable, and consistently executed. A special detail is that the icons used in the design are inspired by elements from Heerlen, such as its rich history with mining. This way, the wayfinding gains a subtle local identity and connects the old and new buildings in a recognizable way.

The result is a clear and stylish wayfinding that effortlessly guides visitors through the complex. Thanks to precise execution and thoughtful design details, the signage perfectly matches the architecture and contributes to a clear and professional appearance of the town hall.
